![]() In short, you have the wrong cable to do the best job."I have absolutely never been this happy about my guitar tone. I believe you would be happier with using the XLR's to carry left and right to the Crate and run your inout to the GSP. This connection I would NOT recommend as it will be noisier and you will lose the stereo effect capabiltiy since the effect is inserted as a mono. The Send cable of the Y should go to the Send jack on the back of the GSP and the return should go to the left return jack of the GSP. If you connect the guitar to the crate and then use the STP, Plug the TRS single connector into the Left/Mono/send/rtn on the Crate. Your audio or guitar then is connected to the GSP guitar input. If you want that speaker function, then you should get two XLR to 1/4 TRS cables and go from the XLR's on the GSP to the Left and Right inputs on the back of the Crate. The STP is an "Insert Snake" which is not really what you want as it is intended to send and receive (audio going both directions in the cable. If you use the 1/4 outputs on the GSP, there is a speaker modeling like function that is NOT available, that IS available IF you use the XLR outputs. There are some caveats regarding the connections, and a lot depends how you are going to use this. (Read the manual carefully) I think the choice of the Digitech isn't that great because it is already trying to reproduce a lot of what you can already get with just your Marshall but with a little experimentation and some careful adjustments you should be able to add to the sound of the Marshall. Do the same with the Digitech with both the input and output levels. Start out with the effects level on the Marshall all the way down. Run a guitar cord out of the send on the loop into the input of the Digitech and a guitar cord out of the left / mono output jack on the Digitech into the effects return jack on the Marshall. Since you have a Marshall and can already get some great sounds by running your guitar straight into the Marshalls input, you would probably be better off using your Digitech in the FX loop. The Digitech manual shows guitar into the Digitech and output from the Digitech into input of any guitar amp. You only have one amp so you won't be able to take advantage of all the FX on the Digitech as a lot of them are designed for stereo. Read your manuals for both pieces of gear carefully first. ![]()
